Membership - Who Can Join SITA?

SITA has been created by qualified linguists with the primary aim of raising the standards of interpreting and translation work in Scotland.

We welcome membership enquiries and applications from all levels of interpreters and translators.

By joining SITA you will be able to access information on how to get training and qualifications, as well as benefiting from the advice and experience of qualified interpreters who are already working in Scotland.

SITA is the ideal organisation for providing encouragement and support to unqualified interpreters who wish to obtain their professional qualifications and accreditations!

There are THREE categories of membership within SITA:

1. STUDENT MEMBER

If you are currently studying for a qualification in interpreting or translation you can join SITA as a Student Member.

2. ASSOCIATE MEMBER

If you are a newly qualified interpreter/translator with little or no work experience you can join SITA as an Associate Member.

3. FULL MEMBER
If you are qualified and have sufficient work experience you can join SITA as a FULL MEMBER
