About SITA

  • SITA was formed as a Voluntary, Not-For-Profit Association of Members on 1st August 2009.

  • SITA aims to become the united voice of linguists in Scotland.

  • SITA will promote and defend the interest of linguists and the delivery of a professional, high quality service in Scotland.

  • SITA is an independent membership organisation run by - and for - interpreters and translators.

  • SITA is inviting applications for membership from all linguists based in Scotland.  The stronger the membership, the stronger our voice will be.

  • SITA has an elected Executive Committee (EC) of eleven members which consists of six office bearers (President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Vice-Treasurer, Secretary, Vice-Secretary) and five ordinary members.

  • SITA's work is supported by several sub-committees, each chaired by an EC member.
